Wider AdSense Ad Formats Perform Best

Ad Formats tend to perform differently from site to site, but as a rule, the high rollers are usually to found in amongst the wider rectangular shapes.

These include:

300 X 250 inline rectangle

336 X 280 large rectangle

728 X 90 leaderboard

Placed above the fold and sandwiched between content or alternatively below content, these ad formats should work very well.

An interesting point to remember is that the 300 X 250 rectangle can generate image and video ad campaigns from premium advertisers.  There is some evidence to suggest that this rich media ad content may attract a higher CTR (Click Through Rate).

“The mother of invention is experimentation” so use your AdSense Channels to test new formats and placements - see what performs best on your own site. More info on ad formats here.
